ICAR-KVK-Alappuzha participated in International Workshop and Exhibition on VAIGA
ICAR-KVK-Alappuzha participated in the International Workshop and Exhibition on VAIGA (Value Addition for Income Generation in Agriculture) organized by Department of Agriculture Development & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Kerala at Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram from December 1-5, 2016 for showcasing the technologies in the field of processing and value addition of various crops. ICAR-KVK-Alappuzha highlighted the technologies of value addition of vegetables and exhibited various value added products from vegetables. Justice.P.Sadasivam, Honourable Governor of Kerala , Sri.Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon. Chief Minister, Adv.V.S.Sunilkumar, Minister of Agriculture Development & Farmers’ Welfare, Sri.A.C.Moideen, Minister of Industries, Sri.Raju Narayana Swamy, IAS, Agricultural Production Commissioner , Sri.Biju Prabhakar, IAS, Director of Agriculture Development & Farmers’ Welfare and many other dignitaries visited the KVK stall. More than 4000 people visited the stall during these 5 days and several stakeholders made enquiries about the technologies of value addition of vegetables.
Mrs.Jissy George, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science) made a presentation on “Value addition of vegetable” in the technical session held as part of the event on 02.12.2016.
